The digestive health benefits of prunes are well recognised. They are a source of:

• Vitamins: A, B1, B2, Niacin, B6, C and K
• Minerals: Sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and iron
• Trace elements: zinc, copper and boron
• Polyphenols (plant chemicals that promote health)

Fiber for gut health

Prunes are a good source of fiber and sorbitol (a form of sugar). The healthy bacteria in the gut use these nutrients as fuel, creating by products that promote a healthy intestinal lining. Rather than making the digestive tract lazy as conventional laxatives do over time, prunes ensure that it remains strong and healthy.

Note: Some people are sensitive to the effects of fiber and sorbitol in the intestines. They may cause gas and bloating.

How is Natureland prune juice made?

Natureland prune juice is made using only 100% natural sundried, unsulphured prunes. Each cup contains the equivalent of 450g of fresh plums.

The whole prune is used, including the skin, ensuring that all of the natural goodness is maintained. No lemon juice, sugar, concentrates, flavors or synthetic vitamins are added. The prunes are processed with water to create an aromatic, mild tasting, all-natural, gentle prune juice. 

The juice is pasteurized using a special heating process. It is heated to 60-85 ℃ and immediately cooled. This not only kills off any bacteria in the juice, but preserves the nutrients that would otherwise be lost in conventional pasteurization. 

Recommended intake

For gentle relief we recommend one cup (200ml) per day.

If needed, you could add a second cup per day as the juice is very mild.
